As Equity City's economy and simulation systems grow, the "wiring" behind the scenes naturally gets more complicated. Every new feature—from complex NPC minds to intricate brand dynamics—needs to communicate with the core simulation without breaking the delicate balance of our deterministic city.

In a game where every decision matters, stability and scale can't be compromised. That's why Week 10 was dedicated to laying down a new kind of foundation: an "Agentic Architecture."

Enter Agentic Architecture

What does "Agentic Architecture" actually mean for players? It means we're reorganizing the codebase so our AI development agents can work alongside us more effectively.

By establishing a clear Architecture Migration Baseline, we've fundamentally changed how we build the game. Instead of massive, sweeping rewrites that risk destabilizing the city, we are now relying on surgical, small safe commits. Our AI agents can now confidently navigate the codebase, understand the constraints of the simulation, and implement new features with incredible precision.

Deepening the Roots

To make this work, we focused on "deepening over widening." Instead of letting our code sprawl outward, we grouped related systems into strong, unified modules.

  • City Session Composition: We concentrated how the simulation starts, runs, and maintains its deterministic heartbeat into one robust module. This means when we add a new layer to the city, the core heartbeat stays perfectly in sync.
  • Contract Lifecycle: Whether it's employment, leases, or property transfers, all contracts now share a common foundation. This unified approach makes it vastly easier to introduce new economic mechanics without reinventing the wheel.
